1286428 Semi-conductor devices NATIONAL BERYLLIA CORP 19 April 1971 [28 April 1970] 25598/71 Heading HlK A heat sink header (Figs. 1, 2) for a semiconductor comprises a ceramic, e.g. beryllia slug 10 shouldered at 11 to define concentric cylindered portions 12, 13; a semi-conductor and associated circuit being impressed on upper surface 14 and the lower surface 15 being ground, lapped, and polished to make thermal contact with a chassis 30; metal leads 21, 22, 23, 24 being attached to the circuit. A metal clip 40 (Figs. 3, 4, not shown) has a central opening with a connecting slot of less diameter at one side enabling it to engage the shoulder of the slug and brackets 41, 42 are, e.g., riveted to the chassis to hold the ceramic slug thereon. In a modification (Figs. 5, 6, not shown) the opening of the clips is shaped with an interfitting portion, e.g. a flat, engaging a corresponding portion of the slug to hold it in predetermined orientation. |
