<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a force sense giving type shift device which is capable of achieving the improvement of operability, the reduction of fatigue, and the like by enabling an operator to arbitrarily select an operation feeling like a feeling of moderation. <P>SOLUTION: A shift device (1) includes an X motor (31) and a Y motor (36) as driving means for generating reaction force on a shift lever (2). In a memory (51) connected to a force sense control part (50), a plurality of force sense patterns (52) giving different feelings of moderation to the shift lever are preliminarily stored. The shift lever is provided with selection means (80) for selecting one of the plurality of force sense patterns. The force sense control part generates, on the shift lever, a feeling of moderation or the like corresponding to strength according to the force sense pattern selected by the selection means.
