A parallelepiped block (10) of insulating material comprises two sides (16) and two ends (20). The block has top (15) and bottom (17) surfaces. The sides are joined by one or more webs (21) so that, between two facing webs, or between a web and an end, and between the sides, column-forming voids (12) are defined. Upstanding cylindrical flanges (26) are on the top surface (15) around each void. Corresponding cylindrical grooves (28) are on the bottom surface (17). One block is thus disposable on top of another at an angle with respect to the other, with the flanges on one block in engagement with corresponding grooves on the intersecting block, and wherein said engagement locks one block with respect to the other against movement. A wall (100) can be formed with the blocks, and a corner formed through angles between acute and obtuse with interleaving blocks. |
