PURPOSE: Distance measuring apparatus is provided to improve the accuracy of measuring distance through a rear camera and a side camera, and to reduce cost by using a camera equipped in an existing vehicle. CONSTITUTION: Distance measuring apparatus for a vehicle(1) comprises a rear camera, a side camera(20), and a calculation part(30). The rear camera is installed in the back of a vehicle. The rear camera obtains a first image of the back of the vehicle. The side camera is installed in the side of the vehicle. The side camera obtains a second image of the back of the vehicle. The calculation part calculates distance to a back object from the vehicle by using the difference of the image of the back object in the first image and the second image.
