The invention relates to a refrigeration device (10), in particular a domestic refrigeration device, comprising a device (20) for producing ice which is configured such that at least one block of ice is produced. Individual pieces of ice (9) can be successively separated from the block of ice by means of a separation device (30). The total of the bases of a separated ice cube (9) and the block of ice after separating said ice cubes is essentially the same as or slightly smaller than the base of the block of ice prior to the separation of said pieces of ice (9). The invention also relates to a corresponding method for the production of pieces of ice (9). |
