<p>The probe has an exhaust gas probe pipe (10) and clamping tongs comprising tong arms (20, 30) for fastening the probe at an exhaust end pipe. One of the tong arms is provided with a double edged front section (21), which is designed in a stepped manner. The front section with the probe pipe and another front section (31) of the other tong arm form a hollow chamber (50). The hollow chamber is in contact with the end pipe in a clamped position and extends parallel to a longitudinal axis of the probe pipe. The tong arms are designed as sheet bending parts.</p>
