PURPOSE: A driving device for a turntable is provided to secure a wide range of rotation angle of a table plate by employing a two-stage chain driving method that enables forward and reverse rotation of the table plate. CONSTITUTION: A driving device for a turntable comprises forward and reverse driven sprockets(SP1,SP2), a drive cylinder(10), forward and reverse driving sprockets(SP11,SP12), first and second idle sprockets(ISP1,ISP2), a forward chain(C1), and a reverse chain(C2). The forward and reverse driven sprockets are fixed to the lower and upper parts of one side of a rotary shaft. The forward and reverse driving sprockets are installed on the lower and upper parts of the leading end of an actuating rod of the driver cylinder through sprocket brackets(13). The first idle sprocket is installed on one side of a base(1) adjacent to the reverse driven sprocket. The second idle sprocket is installed on the side of the base, opposite to the first idle sprocket. After one end of the forward chain is wound over the forward driven and driving sprockets, the other end of the forward chain is fixed to one fixing end(15) of the base. After one end of the reverse chain is wound over the reverse driven sprocket, the first and second idle sprockets, and the reverse driving sprocket, the other end of the reverse chain is fixed to the other fixing end of the base.
