PURPOSE: A composition containing Torilis japonica extract is provided to suppress pain and acute edema and to prevent and treat disease such as inflammatory change. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing Torilis japonica extract which is an indicator of arctigenin comprises: a step of extracting Torilis japonica with water, alcohol, or alcohol solution and cooling and filtering; a step of performing layer separation of remaining liquid using an alcohol solution and decompressing at 50-90°C; and a step of adding alcohol to the concentrate and centrifuging at 700-1,200 rpm.
