A method for diagnosing pneumonia complicated with pneumonic toxicosis in the young children provides for the detection of antibacterial peptide – neutrophil elastase with the aid of Human Elastase Elisa Test Kit based on sandwich method of solid phase enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative assay of free and bound native neutrophil elastase in blood plasma and measurement of the parameters characterizing acid-base equilibrium.
