FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sol containing silicon dioxide based particles, preparation and use thereof. The sol contains silicon dioxide based particles with axial ratio of at least 10 and specific surface area of at least 600 m2/g. The invention also relates to a sol containing silicon dioxide based particles with axial ratio of at least 10 and S-value approximately not higher than 25%.
