<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing to which external force is hardly applied, whose fishing line is hardly caught, and which is excellent in the specific rigidity and specific strength. <P>SOLUTION: The spinning reel 10 for fishing includes: a reel body 12 which has a drive gear 26a housed within a reel body 12a to be rotationally driven by a handle 14 disposed on one side, and which is attached to a fishing rod via a leg part 12c extended upward from the reel body 12a; and a cap member 50 which covers the reel body 12a of the reel body 12 from behind. The leg part 12c has a plurality of supports 34b and 34c disposed sideways separately from each other in a base region 34 adjacent to the reel body 12a.
