<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor interruption circuit in which enlargement of circuit area or increase in production cost can be minimized without using a snubber circuit, a waveform generation circuit, or the like. <P>SOLUTION: When a determination is made that a short circuit or an overcurrent has occurred and a semiconductor interrupter 12 interrupts a current, a control unit 11 changeovers electrical connection state of switches S<SB POS="POST">1</SB>and S<SB POS="POST">2</SB>. Consequently, a voltage regulation capacitor C is charged from the gate terminal of the semiconductor interrupter 12 and the gate voltage V<SB POS="POST">G</SB>thereof is reduced abruptly. When charging of the voltage regulation capacitor C is completed, residual charges are drained gradually from the gate terminal of the semiconductor interrupter 12 through a resistor R<SB POS="POST">2</SB>having a relatively large resistance thus reducing the gate voltage V<SB POS="POST">G</SB>gently. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
