PURPOSE:To judge occurrence of the cause of jam by detecting that a recording paper detecting signal begins not to be applicable within a time required for recording paper to pass through a detecting device. CONSTITUTION:If a switch 1 is turned on due to a tear of recording paper, an AND condition of an AND circuit 27 is realized and a tear detection signal from a detection circuit 2 becomes applicable. If the recording paper is transfered normally without generating any tear or curl during time T1 of a timer circuit 25 an output from the detecting circuit 2 is a zero as the AND condition of the AND circuit 27 is not realized. In this case, if a transfer of the recording paper is suspended a jam detecting signal from a jam detecting circuit 3 becomes applicable. |
