<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope and a filter inserting method that enable focusing to be achieved more accurately according to color differences from sample to sample. <P>SOLUTION: A microscope comprises a first image forming optical system that images light from a cell tissue sample mounted on a stage; a light ray branching element that partly branches out the light from the cell tissue sample from the first image forming optical system; a second image forming optical system that has an imaging element that images a phase contrast image of the part of the branched light from the cell tissue sample and one or a plurality of optical elements that cause the imaging element to form the phase contrast image; and a filter insertion unit that inserts an optical filter absorbing light of a prescribed wavelength in the optical path of the second image forming optical system. The filter insertion unit inserts the optical filter absorbing the light of a wavelength corresponding to a complementary color of a color of an object of observation, according to the color of the object of observation in the cell tissue sample. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
