<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjustable anchoring cannula sleeve which allows an anchoring device for sliding along the length of a trocar, and to allow a surgeon for setting the length of the trocar inside or the outside of a patient. <P>SOLUTION: An anchoring apparatus for use with an access sleeve 104 is disclosed. The access sleeve 104 is adapted for passage through tissue and having a lumen permitting introduction of an instrument through the sleeve. The access sleeve 104 includes a collar 108 and an inflatable membrane 110. The collar 108 is arranged around the access sleeve 104 and is adapted to move with respect to the access sleeve 104. The inflatable membrane 110 secured to the collar 108 is securely engaged with tissue, and substantially anchors the collar 108 with respect to the tissue while permitting movement of the access sleeve 104 with respect to the collar 108. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
