PURPOSE: A linear motor armature and a linear motor are provided to improve cooling efficiency by suppressing a surface temperature rise of an armature. CONSTITUTION: An armature(5) includes a flange(11), a screw(12), an inner coolant path(13a), and an outer coolant path(13b). An armature coil(7) is fixed with a resin mold(14) to be closely adhered to the inner side of a cooling jacket(8). A flange is formed by bending an edge unit of the cooling jacket. The flange of the cooling jacket is fixed to a base(6) with a screw. The base transmits a thrust generated by the armature coil to the outside.
