PURPOSE:To enable a temperature compensation for perfect position by a temperature compensation member to alter the axial direction of a lead screw at the time of deformation by thermal expansion. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic disk device specified that a magnetic head is moved with respect to a magnetic disk by means of a lead screw and a guide pin so as to bring the magnetic head to the required track position, a temperature compensation member 7 is provided, which acts to change the axial direction of the lead screw on a plane level in parallel to the magnetic disk at the time of deformation caused by thermal expansion. In this way by inclining the lead screw axis, such a temperature compensation amount can be obtained as larger toward the outer peripheral side of the magnetic disk, whereas smaller toward the inner peripheral side. Incidentally, the amount of the temperature compensation for magnetic head position can be variable in accordance with the diametric direction of the magnetic disk, thus making the compensation almost perfect for position of the magnetic head. |
