<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a shock absorbing type steering device that can inexpensively obtain more superior performance while securing design flexibility. <P>SOLUTION: An energy absorbing member 36a is provided between a fastening rod 27a and a rear end surface of casing 41 which constitutes an electric power steering apparatus 40. Since a moment of a direction to carry out rocking displacement of an outer column 13a centering the fastening rod 27a is not added upon secondary collision, this outer column 13a is stably displaced forward. Also, it is not necessary to prepare an exclusive use member in order to install the energy absorbing member 36a, and thereby cost is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
