<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce waiting time required from when a user selects video content from a distribution menu until when the video content is actually reproduced, compared to a conventional data distribution device, when the video content whose distribution is requested by a content reproduction terminal is reproduced. <P>SOLUTION: A data distribution device for distributing data to a terminal via a network includes an information data distribution unit for distributing information data including one or more pieces of identification information for identifying content to the terminal.
