<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near-field communication (NFC) system. <P>SOLUTION: The NFC system comprises a plug-in device comprising a first NFC sensor and a mobile wireless communications device. The mobile wireless communications device comprises a housing defining a plug-in device port, a light source carried by the housing, an optical sensor carried by the portable housing, a second NFC sensor carried by the portable housing, and a controller carried by the portable housing and coupled to the light source, the optical sensor, and the second NFC sensor.
