PURPOSE: A side protection device for a vehicle is provided to prevent damages by the impact on the side of a vehicle generated due to an door opening and closing of other vehicle in stopping and backing. CONSTITUTION: A side protection device for a vehicle comprises a body unit(100), a side protector(200), a fixed shaft, a cam unit, and an axial rotation limit unit. The body unit closely fixed to a gap between the front and rear doors. The body unit comprises a fixed body unit(110) and a movable body unit(120). A hinge arm(111) is formed in an end part of the fixed body unit. A side arm(121) is formed in an end of the movable body unit and installed to be rotated around the fixed body unit. The side protector is respectively extended in the ends of the fixed body unit and movable body unit. The side protector is closely installed on the side of a vehicle, thereby preventing damages by impact on the side of a vehicle. The fixed shaft is installed in the hinge arm to be possible of an elastic liner motion. A lock(310) is installed in the lower part of the fixed shaft. The lock is inserted into the gap of the door and rotated by the rotation of the movable body unit, thereby fixing by hanging on the door frame of a vehicle. The cam unit converts liner driving force of the fixed shaft into a rotary motion power to make lock rotate. The axial rotation limit unit pushes the upper part of the fixed shaft or releases the push by interlocking with the rotation of the movable body unit in the fixed body unit, thereby controlling the fixed shaft to make a straight-line motion possible.
