PURPOSE: A communication unit for a smart grid and air conditioning system including the same are provided to reduce maintain management costs of a communication unit by communicating an energy management unit with a home appliance. CONSTITUTION: A base module(280) is detached from the main body of a home appliance(103). The base module receives voltages from the main body of the home appliance. The base module communicates data with the main body of the home appliance. The base module is connected with the control unit of the home appliance. A communication module(290) is arranged at the base module. The communication module is mutually communicated with an energy management system(30).
