<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a sealed battery having an electrode body and an electrolyte sealed in a battery case, the structure allowing a connection member to be mounted on the battery case in a space-saving manner without increasing the length of a lead wire. <P>SOLUTION: A sealed battery (1) comprises: a battery case (2) which has an electrode body (30) and an electrolyte sealed therein, and which functions as a terminal with one of the polarities for the electrode body (30); a negative electrode terminal (22) (external terminal) which is arranged on the battery case (2) while being electrically insulated from the battery case (2), and which functions as a terminal with the other polarity for the electrode body (30); and a sealing plug (25) (sealing member) for closing an inlet (24) of the electrolyte which is arranged in line with the negative electrode terminal (22) on the battery case (2).
