<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a smooth end face by removal of the dross and an oxidized film on cut surfaces. <P>SOLUTION: First, by jetting a liquid column W to a planar workpiece 2 and simultaneously irradiating the workpiece 2 with a laser beam L which is introduced in the liquid column W, the workpiece 2 is cut along a planned cutting line C (Fig. 4(a)). Next, by jetting the liquid column W again to the workpiece 2 so as to follow the cut surfaces 2A of the workpiece 2 and simultaneously irradiating the workpiece with the laser beam L, finishing work for removing the longitudinal-direction entire region of the cut surface 2A is applied to the workpiece 2 (Fig. 4(b)). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
