<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the leakage of toner with a simple configuration in a developing device to/from which a toner cartridge is attachable/detachable. <P>SOLUTION: A shutter mechanism 90 is fitted in the toner supply port 39a of a developing unit main body 31. A recess (a falling toner receiving part) 42 is formed in the bottom of a cartridge setting part 40 located in front of a shutter mechanism attaching part. Thus, even if toner falls on the cartridge setting part 40 from the shutter mechanism 90, the toner is stored in the recess 42.
