ENGINE HAVING SUPERCHARGER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform good supercharging regardless of an operation region of an engine and a residual amount of a battery in an engine having an engine- driven supercharger. SOLUTION: An engine 1 having the supercharger 5 in an intake passage 2 comprises a battery 40 and an electric motor 4 driven by the battery 40. The supercharger 5 is driven by crankshaft output of the engine 1 or output of the electric motor 4. Thus, the optimal supercharger driving means can be selected in response to operation conditions such as engine speed and the battery residual capacity, and good acceleration performance can be realized.
