<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film having controlled wavelength dispersibility, and further to provide a retardation film having reverse wavelength dispersibility. <P>SOLUTION: A retardation film comprises a film (A) and a film (B). The film (A) consists of fumaric acid ester resin and satisfies a relation: nx<ny≤nz, in which nx denotes a refractive index in a film surface in a phase advancing axis direction, ny denotes a refractive index in a film in-plane direction perpendicularly intersecting the phase advancing axis direction, and nz denotes a refractive index in a film thickness direction. The film (B) consists of polycarbonate resin, polyether sulfone resin, polyarylate resin, polyimide resin, cyclic polyolefin resin, or n-substituted maleimide based resin, and three-dimensional refractive indexes of the film satisfy a relation: ny>nx≥nz or a relation: ny>nz≥nx, in which nx denotes a refractive index in the film surface in the phase advancing axis direction, ny denotes a refractive index in the film in-plane direction perpendicularly intersecting the phase advancing axis direction and nz denotes a refractive index in the film thickness direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
