<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyphenylene sulfide-based artificial hair fiber excellent in heat resistance, fire retardancy, and drip resistance, and having natural luster like human hair. <P>SOLUTION: The artificial hair fiber includes (A) polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) resin, and (B) a quenching agent comprising inorganic particles. The PPS resin has a melt index in a range of 60-110, and 0.1-2.0 pts.wt. of the inorganic particle quenching agent is added to 100 pts.wt. of the PPS resin. The artificial hair fiber has a denier of 30-80 denier. The polyphenylene sulfide resin (A) has a p-phenylene sulfide repeating unit of ≥85 mol%. For the inorganic particle quenching agent, silicon dioxide, talc, or their mixture is used, and an inorganic particle to be used for the quenching agent has an average particle diameter in a range of 0.01-3.0 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
