PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a three-dimensional image having more natural three-dimensional description without discomfort, from an existent two-dimensional image.

SOLUTION: An image processing device comprises: an input unit 11 for inputting a two-dimensional image having a plurality of subjects each including a shadow; an image processing unit 34 and a CPU 29 which extract the subject portions and the shadow portions thereof in the two-dimensional image input by the input unit 11, estimate distances to corresponding subject portions from the positional relations between the plurality of extracted shadow portions, and create images for both the right and left eyes obtained by respectively deviating the subject portions and the shadow portions on the basis of the acquired distances; and projection systems (12 to 28) for projecting the created images for both the right and left eyes.
