<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain data obtained by properly reading respective images even when various images such as characters and photographs are mixed in a document, by an image reader for generating image data by reading the document. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader comprises: an LED lamp 6 for irradiating the document with light; an image sensor 15 which converts light reflected by the document to an electric signal; a first image processing unit 9 which generates image data using the electric signal obtained from the image sensor 15; and a lighting control unit 93 which controls the light to irradiate the document therewith by the LED lamp 6. When the first image processing unit 9 generates the image data of a sheet of a document, the lighting control unit 93 controls the light of the LED lamp 6 to irradiate at least a part of the document respectively with a plurality of different patterns of light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
