<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine automatic control system which improves manipulability and fuel efficiency by stopping and starting an engine at an adequate time according to a traffic state of an intersection. <P>SOLUTION: A roadside communicator 17 transmits traffic light information on traffic light and mobile object information to a vehicle. An in-vehicle communicator mounted on the vehicle acquires the transmitted traffic light information and mobile object information. An engine start determination section 31 determines permission or prohibition of a start of an engine based on the traffic light information and the mobile object information acquired from the road side. In other words, the engine start determination section 31 determines the engine start time in consideration of the display of the traffic light, and the states of mobile objects that pass through the intersection, such as the subject vehicle, other vehicle or a pedestrian.
