The package device (1) has a covering device for attachment of a prefabricated extension hood (4) on press bales (2), where the extension hood is turnable from the inside outwardly during the covering. A bale receiver is adapted for the press bales and is provided with a stabilization device. The covering device is provided with a production device for the extension hood of an elastic hose. The production device has a device for pulling and handling the hose and a cutting and welding device for hood formation.
