<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a management system based on a policy for independence node redundancy array. <P>SOLUTION: An archive cluster application is performed in a dispersal aspect in a redundancy array of dependent node. A given node stores a large amount of data, and functions as a data repository making it possible to access to an archive file. Each nodes having a symmetric relationship each other have a series of software process. A request manager controls a data request for node, and a storage manager controls a data reading/writing function from a disk working with the node, and a metadata manager facilitates a transaction and a recovery of metadata over a dispersal database. A policy manager carries out a policy determining a behavior of "archive object" within a cluster.
