<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound to generate a base having a higher catalytic activity than conventional photobase generators, a photobase generator containing the same, and a method for generating a base. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided the compound represented by formula [1], the photobase generator containing the same, and the method for generating a base. In the formula, Ar denotes one selected from the group consisting of a coumalinyl group having a specific structure and an acenaphthenyl group having a specific structure; Y<SP POS="POST">+</SP>denotes a quaternary ammonium group having a specific structure; Z<SP POS="POST">-</SP>denotes a halogen anion, a borate anion, an N,N-dimethylcarbamate anion, an N,N-dimethyldithiocarbamate anion, a cyanate anion, a thiocyanate anion, a benzoate anion or a benzoylformate anion; R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>each independently denote a hydrogen atom, a 1-10C straight chain, branched chain or cyclic alkyl group, or a phenyl group which may have a substituent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
