<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rechargeable battery having a safety device with an improved structure. <P>SOLUTION: A rechargeable battery includes a plurality of electrode assemblies including a first electrode and a second electrode and performing charging and discharging of batteries; a case housing the plurality of electrode assemblies; and a safety member having a first side plate that contacts the first planar surface of one electrode assembly of the plurality of electrode assemblies, which is located at an outermost periphery of the electrode assemblies, a second side plate that contacts a second planar surface of the one electrode assembly facing the first planner surface, and a connector electrically connecting the first side plate and the second side plate, in which the safety member is electrically coupled to the first electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
