COATING COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING COATING FILMS

Provided are a coating composition that can form a coating film of superior vapor barrier properties, weather resistance and corrosion resistance with a single application and removal of organic solvent; a method for producing said coating film; and coated articles having coating films obtained thereby. The coating composition comprises an organic solvent, a coating resin capable of being solubilized or dispersed in said organic solvent and a leafing aluminum pigment, and is characterized in that the surface tension at 20°C of said organic solvent is 10 to 22 mN/m. After applying said coating composition on a substrate, the method for producing coating films removes the organic solvent in the coating composition.
