<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine with a fuel control valve that stops the engine quickly when the exhaust gas leaks out of a combustion chamber, and to provide a co-generation system including the engine. <P>SOLUTION: A gas engine 17 includes an accommodation space 45 to accommodate a spool 43 in a solenoid proportional valve 33, an atmosphere releasing port 46 to release the accommodation space to the atmosphere, a communication passage 62 to connect the atmosphere releasing port with a relief valve 61, and an atmosphere releasing member 63 to release the communication passage to the atmosphere 47 located in the middle of the communication passage.
