PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve attractiveness in a game machine which carries out a performance using characters. SOLUTION: The game machine offers a plurality of performance modes such as the normal mode, a battle mode, a chance mode and a super heating mode different in performance on an image display device. In the battle mode, the most advantageous of all, when the jackpot is won, it may be led to a non-variable probability jackpot and further shifted down to the chance mode. Even in this case, the continuation of the battle mode is made possible at a fixed rate, thereby preventing the drop out of the game as a result of such a shift down of mode.
