TWO-STEP VOLTAGE LEVEL SHIFT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boost voltage level without any additional big hardware requirement.

SOLUTION: A voltage level shifter for shifting an output signal from a first voltage level to a second voltage level and then to an additional boosted second voltage level includes: an input to receive an input signal; an output to output an output signal; a first power supply input to connect to a first voltage source which supplies the first voltage level; a second power supply input to connect to a second voltage source which supplies the second voltage level; and a third power supply input to connect to a third voltage source which supplies the boosted second voltage level. The voltage level shifter responds to a prescribed change of the input signal in order to isolate the first power supply input from the output and in order to connect the second power supply input to the output.
