The packaging (1) has a lower shell (2) made of hard film and including an edge (3) with a planar sealing region (4) and a section (7), where the section is bent relative to a plane of the sealing region. An upper foil (5) covers the lower shell, and is sealed with the lower shell in the sealing region. The upper foil is elastic and/or shrunk after sealing with the lower shell by effect of heat for applying at a product (9) that upwardly projects over the plane of the sealing region. The foil exhibits a shrinking degree from 35 to 50 percent. An independent claim is also included for a packaging machine for manufacturing a product packaging.
