A terminal (100) and methods are presented for displaying customer information about a transaction occurring on a point of sale terminal (100) on a customer's portable computing device (200). Creating a virtual session on the portable computing device (200) permits additional information to be presented to the customer. This allows the virtual session to be started and ended without the need for assistance by an operator of the point of sale terminal (100).
