<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system capable of performing authentication processing by unifying and recording multiple types of information for authentication in a storage medium, and extracting information for authentication appropriate for respective authentication systems. <P>SOLUTION: The authentication system that is connected to a card reader for reading card information from a card and outputting the card information as character strings in a text format includes: extraction processing parts 105 to 112 for extracting character strings for authentication necessary for user authentication from the character strings output by the card; a rule specification part 104 for identifying an extraction rule in a situation where character strings for authentication are extracted by the extraction processing part; and an authentication processing part 122 for performing processing necessary for authentication of a holder of a medium reading device using the extracted character strings for authentication. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
