PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a three-dimension image with more natural stereoscopic description without the feeling of strangeness, from an existing two-dimension image.

SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus has: an input unit 11 and an image memory 33 that input and store a two-dimension image; and an image processing unit 34 and a CPU 29 that detect a blur amount of a part configuring the stored two-dimension image, estimate a distance to a subject for the part from the detected blur amount, and produce an image for both eyes, in which the part is shifted based on the obtained distance.
