<p>A power transmitting device for a vehicle, having a torque limiter. The power transmitting device is configured in such a manner that a reduction in the durability of a rotation member provided between the engine and the torque limiter is minimized. The moment of inertia I1 of a first rotation section (104) of a torque limiter (24) about the rotation axis (first axis (RC1)) of the first rotation section (104) is less than the moment of inertia I2 of a second rotation section (106) about the rotation axis thereof. In comparison with the opposite case, that is, the case in which the moment of inertia I1 is greater than the moment of inertia I2, the moment of inertia generated by a portion extending from an input shaft (18) to the first rotation section (104) can be reduced. As a result, when the torque limiter (24) is activated, that is, when the first rotation section (104) and the second rotation section (106) slip relative to each other, the torque transitionally applied to a rotation member, such as the input shaft (18), which is provided between the engine (14) and the torque limiter (24) can be reduced. This prevents the durability of the input shaft (18) from decreasing.</p> |
