Equipment and method for filling chromatography tubes comprising a dispenser for granulated or powdered adsorbent materials; tube holder; filter punch; device for moving the tubes and electronic sequential control unit. Each tube can be filled with different adsorbent materials separated by filters. The dispenser is supported on two horizontal and vertical supporting elements, and is moveable in the horizontal plane under the action of a horizontal step motor. The punch comprises a platform, a spacing cylinder concentric with the presser cylinder and the punching cannula, a spring for the cannula and a side gear assembly linked to a step motor. The filling method includes the following stages: a) loading tube into holder; b) loading adsorbent materials into dispenser; c) preparing dose; d) placing dose in tube; e) shaking tube to compact; f) moving tube to filter punch; g) inserting filter in tube.
