摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of taking much time to reach an intended vehicle speed and of poor fuel efficiency with excessive fuel consumption that a tractor or the like faces when running on the road with the engine revolution set and sustained by use of the accelerator pedal or lever. <P>SOLUTION: A tractor is provided with an accelerator pedal keeping a set position, a motor for adjusting the position of the control rack that regulates engine output revolution, and a power roller that regulates the revolution of a troidal type continuously variable transmission device. A variable transmission mode selection lever 7 is also provided for setting the vehicle speed mode at the "work" or "run" position. In the case where the selector lever 7 is in the "work" position when the accelerator pedal is operated, the revolution of the transmission device is adjusted while the engine revolution is kept roughly constant. When the selector lever 7 is in the "run" position, an adjustment is conducted by properly linking the revolution of the engine and that of the transmission device 2.
