<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming an image while keeping a quality level of the image, concerning a double-sided image forming apparatus for printing a plurality of images on first and second sides of a continuous sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a controller arranged to control an image forming unit so as to form images based on image information and to form maintenance images for maintaining the image forming unit. The controller controls the image forming unit such that a time interval from the image formation for the last maintenance to that for the following maintenance is arranged in a predetermined time. Also, the controller controls the image forming unit so as to form the maintenance images according to the positions of the maintenance images recorded on the first side of the sheet, when forming the images on the second side of the continuous sheet with the images formed on the first side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
