<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allay, in a mechanical pencil including a rotary drive mechanism for gradually rotating a writing lead by use of forward and backward movement (cushioning operation) of the writing lead by writing pressure, a sense of incongruity in writing which occurs along with the cushioning operation. <P>SOLUTION: The mechanical pencil includes a rotator 6 constituted so that it can move in a rotating direction and the axial direction within a shaft tube 1 together with a chuck 4 for holding the writing lead. First and second cam surfaces 6a, 6b are formed respectively on one end surface and the other end surface in the axial direction of the rotator, and first and second stationary cam surfaces 13a, 14b are arranged on the shaft tube side to face the first and second cam surfaces respectively, whereby the rotary drive mechanism of the writing lead is formed. A damping effect is given to the cushion operation by writing pressure by an adhesive grease 19 interposed between a stopper 16 and a torque canceler 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
