<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding machine of compact size for quick operation by improving an equalizing device of a welding machine that performs spot welding. <P>SOLUTION: An equalizing device 90 connects a fixing member 21 which is connected to a stationary stage or an arm of a robot to constitute a post, with a movable member 31 which stores the fixing member 21 inside of it. The lower surface of the fixing member 21 is positioned close to a pressurizing shaft 51. A restrain means is provided between the side surface of the fixing member 21 and the side surface of the movable member 31 so that the fixing member 21 and the movable member 31 are mutually movable only in the direction parallel to the pressuring shaft 51. The pressurizing shaft 51 includes a cut part 52 which is formed by cutting out a part of the side facing the fixing member 31. The front part of the fixing member 21 is provided with a slave lever 40 which is pivoted on the fixing member 21, with one end abutting with a front surface 35 of the movable member 31 while the other end abutting with the pressurizing shaft 51.
