<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar battery having a high energy conversion efficiency in which recombination of optical carriers on the back surface can be suppressed and recombination of optical carriers in a light absorption layer can be suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: A solar battery 10 has a p-type first semiconductor layer and a p-type second semiconductor layer 16. The first semiconductor layer 15 and the second semiconductor layer are in contact with each other. The electron affinity χ1(eV) of the first semiconductor layer, the prohibition band width Eg1(eV) of the first semiconductor layer, the electron affinity χ2(eV) of the second semiconductor layer and the prohibition band width Eg2 of the second semiconductor layer satisfy the following equation (1). -0.4≤ä(χ1+Eg1)-(χ2+Eg2)}≤0.1...(1) <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
